The Desmond Malvern, a DoubleTree by Hilton is hosting a special event offering a very rare opportunity to taste representatives from all 5 edible oyster species! Paired with a comprehensive variety of sparkling wines from across the globe.
MALVERN, PA (March 12, 2024) – The Desmond Malvern, a DoubleTree by Hilton has announced a special event, “A Night of Oysters and Sparkling Wines” to be held at The Desmond Hotel on April 5, 2024 from 6-9 pm. In addition, they are offering an overnight room at a discounted price.
“An incredible opportunity for the oyster & wine enthusiasts! Each oyster has its own distinct characteristics and flavors inherited from its region and seasonal conditions,” said Christopher Calhoun, Executive Chef.
“The sparkling wines are hand selected to represent many styles and regions. Both oysters and sparkling wine possess acidity, which balances each other out. Oysters can be slightly briny, and the acidity of the sparkling wine helps to neutralize that brininess, enhancing the flavors of the oysters,” said Burt Ockerman, Director of Restaurants.
